Palin Rocks the House in SoCal
by Heywood U. Reedmore -- October 4, 2008 at 8:21 pm | In 2008 Election |Governor Sarah Palin hosted a spirited rally in Southern California attracting thousands of fans in enemy territory. The event was held in the ADT Tennis Stadium at the Home Depot Center in Carson and included speakers Jon Voight and Meg Whitman along with various local GOP pols.
As proof she was playing to a packed house, here are four shots of the stadium. Notice that people are standing along the railings at the top. There was also overflow available in the soccer stadium next door.

Jon Voight helped fire up the crowd. He spoke about how when John McCain was in Vietnam, he had been allied with the anti-war left. But then he saw how liberals turned their backs on the violence that followed our withdrawal from Vietnam. He criticized them for wanting the same fate for Iraq and praised McCain for helping prevent it.

The crowd erupted when Palin took the stage.

Sarah Palin started off by recounting her ties to Southern California before launching into attack mode. She went after Barack Obama for his comments about U.S. troops air raiding villages in Afghanistan. When a protester tried to interrupt, Palin pointed in the protester’s direction and praised the troops for fighting to protect the right “that person was exercising.”

Palin also attacked Obama for the unbelievable claim that he would cut taxes as well as for opposing off-shore drilling and more nuclear energy. Palin also went after Obama for his relationship with the domestic terrorist Bill Ayers (see update below). This new attack aside, her comments were mostly boiler plate stuff but Palin was having a lot of fun playing off the crowd.

The crowd kept punctuating Palin’s speech with cheers. It had begun to drizzle and Palin joked that she thought they would have wanted her to wrap up her remarks. The crowd just cheered her on more. After about twenty, twenty-five minutes, she concluded to an enthusiastic roar.

When Palin was done speaking, the crowd rushed stage demonstrating her rock star status.

Palin spent at least fifteen minutes signing autographs before leaving.
Update: I can’t believe I forgot about this, but I just spoke with a friend who reminded me. Palin joked about the Press’s interest in what she reads and used it to mischievously segue into the NY Times article on Bill Ayers. She launched a broadside against Obama for seeking the political support of someone who saw America as the problem and had launched a terror campaign against it.
Also, Hot Air links in Headlines. Thanks!

I have a niece in San Diego who is an X-Ray tech. She told me she has been asking her patients where they stand politically, and has been amazed that so many of them are for McCain/Palin! (She said of them whisper it, though, rather than admit it out loud).

Palin is a real American. Her attitude is refreshing to say the least. I think I speak for many Americans when I say that we are sick and tired of malcontented misanthropes controlling the media and the narratives we are brainwashed with from grade school on. Sarah Palin has pretty much shattered a large portion of that narrative, which is that women are helpless victims who need the government to hold their hands.
This is a great, great country and we should do all we can to promote what is actually great about it, and that is individual responsibility, a dedication to strong family and moral values, and the commitment to smaller government. Palin embodies all of those, and more. She is easily the best political figure to hit the scene in a long, long time.
Thank you so much for posting these wonderful photos.

This woman is special and will be a force in politics for a long time no matter the outcome of this election. The skills she has shown politically and in terms of her ability to communicate is unparalleled by anyone in this campaign including Obama. If Mccain wins, he owes her a great debt and the payment should be to make way for her run in 2012!

Thank you so much for posting those photos. I do so love Sarah Palin: an authentic person with a genuine love to serve the American people.
God bless John McCain and Sarah Palin, may they win the presidency and vice-presidency in a landslide. (I have faith and I do believe in miracles!)

She is absolutely a breath of fresh air! Unlike any politician I have ever seen, including Reagan. She just says what so many of us feel! John set her free - you can win the election if you just let Sarah be Sarah.

Let ‘er rip. Let her rip Obama. It’s long long overdue. When McCain puts out an add it gets ignored by the media these days. But when SP says something, and she doesn’t mince her words, it gets covered by even the MSM so the message actually gets out. She’s hot, especially news wise so they gotta pay attention whether they like it or not. So Soc et tuem Sarah.

Great pictures! I so wish that I had been there…but seeing the pictures and the excitement on everyone’s faces is almost as good.
I too keep hearing people “whisper” that they are voting for McCain/Palen….sad that they feel they have to whisper. That’s how many freedoms we conservatives have lost. When we continue to whisper though we aren’t losing the freedoms, we are giving them away.
I live in Humboldt county [far northern California] so you can imagine how shocked I am continually to see more McCain/Palin signs than Obama’s. And I only know two dems who are voting for Obama….go figure.
Most of them whisper that they don’t trust him…that he’s not really “one of us”.
When I ask people what they mean when they say that [cause I’m nosy] they always look around first to see who is listening and then they say they don’t think he’s really an American.
And they aren’t talking about where he was born either…..

I was at this rally too. It was ridiculously amazing. I was lucky enough to be in the rope line and she took my hand and took the time to pose for a picture and autograph my sign for me. The place was packed and there was electricity in the air. She’s the real deal. (P.S. She is striking in person.)

Thank you, I needed this. I had just read an article and comments about the economy which was seriously depressing. Once again, I do find hope in Palin.
Comment by BAW — October 5, 2008 #
Fae it folks, McCain is a washed up old man with no energy and no fire in his belly. Palin actually wants both the job and has the fire to take on Obama. Why be in California? Because drawing a crowd here is very easy this time of year if there is a crowd that wants to see you. Reasons for crowd include; her rally was within 100 feet of two freeways, lousy beach weather, no snow in the mountains, temps in the low 70s, and nothing but shitty movies all over town. What should be of more interest; at the same time as her rally was taking place there were 90,000 watching USC, 56,000 at the Dodger game, and another 50,000 at the UCLA game. She’s a rock star; McCain is a cello player in somebody else’s rock band.

If you all want socialism so bad, why don’t you find a socialist country to move to? Most americans don’t want a Marxist for President and if they knew that is what Obama is they would not vote for him. But you have the MSM which leans toward socialism so they won’t show that side of the savior!

It was an honor to hear Sarah Palin attack Obama.
Obama has lots of shady, Anti-American Friends I have heard but no one has ever stood toe-to-toe with the information.
I hope that PALIN will present detail after detail until ALL OF AMERICA know more about Obama that has not been told correctly. Palin will get the information presented correctly and to the proint.
PALIN PRESENT ONE OR TWO ADDITIONAL ANTI-AMERICAN DETAILS EACH DAY—THE MEDIA MIGHT PICK-UP ON THE DETAILS EACH DAY AND HELP SPREAD THE WORK TO AMERICAN, HARD WORKING PEOPLE THAT CARE AND IS COMMITTED TO AMERICA AS WELL.
“HELLO MEDIA” — PLEASE GET THE WORD OUT ABOUT PALIN’S DAILY PRESENTATIONS — AMERICA NEED TO KNOW JUST WHO OBAMA REAL IS…ON ONE KNOW WHO OBAMA IS YET.
PLEASE DON’T MISS SHARING THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN TONY REZKO AND OBAMA. REZKO WILL BE SENTENCECD THE LAST WEEK OF OCTOBER 2008 — MAYBE THAT WILL REVEAL SOME INFORMATION ABOUT OBAMA AS WELL. REZKO WAS ONE OF OBAMA’S BIG TIME FUND RAISER.
GO—SARAH PALIN!!!
GO—JOHN MCCAIN!!!
PREVIOUSLY, HILLARY RODHAM CLINTON SHARED INFORMATION ABOUT TONY REZKO.
THIS TIME–PALIN DO NOT LET UP…KEEP INFORMATION COMING EACH DAY ABOUT OBAMA, HIS SHADY FRIENDS, WHERE THERE IS SMOKE….THERE IS LOTS OF FIRE.
TURN UP THE FIRE ON OBAMA.
AFTER ALL, AMERICA IS MORE THAN JUST VOTING FOR A CANDIDATE THAT TRIES TO MAKE PEOPLE BELIEVE HE CAN PROVIDE LOTS OF SOCIAL SERVICES…AND IN TRUE CAN NOT DO SO BECAUSE BIG GOVERNMENT IS JUST TOO BIG.
TIME for McCain and Palin to “REFORM WASHINGTON GOVERNMENT!”
Comment by Blondshag — October 5, 2008 #
We can’t allow BO to become POTUS and have a Democrat led Congress. They will destroy the US with their leftwing policies. It is imperative that we all GOTV. Go to McCain’s web site and sign up to call undecided voters in battleground states. If we each call twenty people, it WILL make a difference. There is no excuse as you can do it from home! I’ve already made 100 calls … it’s easy … ten calls a day. Tell everyone you know who is a McCain-Palin supporter to help get the vote out!

The Democrats left me, I do not want socialism or worst and as a Christian, I found the attacks on Palin religion intolerable and mean spirited.
Unlike Rev. Wright political speeches…and I do know of him and those of him who teaches this way in my community. It was a political speech from the pulpit. Obama supporters are demeaning my belief system because they truly despise people of Faith.
Stand Tall and remember Obama can’t close the deal, Hillary Clinton won those states that were not caucuses. Don’t treat the pollsters and MSM as your friends, but as your enemy…It’s called voter suppression. You must work very hard at GET OUT THE VOTE in EVERY STATE.

Comment by Spiridon — October 5, 2008 #
My comments here will be focused on Jon Voight. What a fresh breath of air he is. He is one of the few former lefties (David Horowitz is another) who acknowledge the horrors of what happened in Vietnam after we left so precipitously. Once the left accomplished their agenda, their memory of what happened when we left Saigon simply stops. The tragedy of Vietnam and Cambodia does not exist in their consciousness. They never talk about it and they never acknowledge it. If you bring it up, a silent veil slips over their contenance. Jon Voight is an American hero to me. Not only does he acknowledge it, but he has put his entire career in jeopardy by speaking out about it. From a grateful American, thank you Jon.

Thank you, Mr. Voight, for reminding all of us of the atrocities that happened after we pulled out of Vietnam which truly define the tragedy and shame of the Vietnam War. My greatest fear for the Iraqi people was that we would abandon them to the same (or worse) atrocities if we pulled out of Iraq, and this war would become “another Vietnam.”
And thank you, Senator McCain, for standing firm and protecting the best interests of our military and the Iraqi people.

If the amount of liberal hate directed at her is any indication, she must be scaring the pants off them. Two years of Democratic rule in Congress has greatly eroded this country’s foundation, yet they still point their crooked little fingers at the President and GOP. Here in michigan, you would not believe how the Democratic government of Granholm and all her cronies have destroyed our state with endless taxes. The soup kitchens are overwhelmed. McDonald’s restasurants have flyers in the drive-thru pickup windows that they need food donations, etc. for Ronald McDonald Houses. I grew up in Detroit, and moved to get away from high crime. We were on the famous “Eight Mile” on the eastside, and I could not believe what had happened to my beautiful city. Kwame and Barry are buddies. They are both crooks. The Fords live just a few miles away…Do you all know that here in Highland Park/Hamtramack where the cars USED to be made, eveyday, 5X’s a day, the call to prayer goes out over the air in loud speakers. Close your eyes, you are in Iran. So many businesses are gone.Boarded up. Pawn shops everywhere. People walking around with urine down the front of their pants, homeless everywhere. Drugs on everystreet corner. Crooked cops+Kwame+drugs=crooked judicial+Granholm kissing Kwame’s butt = the destruction of one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is coming to the rest of you if McCain does not win. I am not exagerating (cannot spell) and I am not making this up. And I am just mentioning a couple of things. The press here is sickening. We were at the rally. It was packed and everyone LOVES Sarah!!
One thing that no one wants to report is that the Obama campaign sent a bunch of thugs to block traffic, they had a loudspeaker mounted on an Obama truck to disrupt the rally. They know they can’t win a campaign of ideas and accomplishments so they have to destroy. Just like the Sturmabteilung in the lead up to the Third Reich. Look up Ernst Rohm and the Brown Shirts.
If Obama could bring “change,” if he cared, he would have improved the schools in his own neighborhood of Chicago. He and the bomber Ayers (liberal Timothy McVeigh) served 5 yrs as head of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, spent over $100 million and the schools they worked with improved ZERO.
Look up Chicago Annenberg Challenge on Wikipedia. ZerObama could not get teachers to teach more. ZerObama did not care enough for inner-city minority kids to go up against the teachers union.
That is why Zero and his wife send their kids to a $20,000 per year private school. Oh, he77 no!! He isn’t sending his kids to those crappy ghetto schools!! Same as Biden!!
BUT Sarah said in her address to the Republican Convention, they will give the best teachers merit pay and “help” the bad teachers find another job. Who cares the most for inner-city minority kids?? Freedom!! Set the children Free!

What does Wall St. want from Obama? Will he give it to them? Of course. He has a history of helping himself first, damn the rest of us.
Everybody needs to get out and stop this nonsense. McCain can reform. He has to slap some hands. Let’s give him the chance.

Not only that, but the date AND the location were changed, it was not originally scheduled for Carson. I have to laugh about Joseph and so many of his ilk who are so smug about who is ignorant and who has a clue.
They have been pushing the line that Palin caused Trig’s Down’s Syndrome because of poor prenatal care. Yeah, that extra chromosome had nothing to do with it. Duh.
They have pushed the line that BHO didn’t really ask the Iraqis to delay a deal on US troop withdrawal until after the election (that he was certain he would win at the time), except for the fact that he did do that and his crew admits it. Duh.
Joseph even wants us to believe that it’s been poor beach weather here in SoCal and that’s the reason for the big crowd. Dude, it’s got to be a monsoon for it to be poor beach weather here. And even if it were, if you think those folks at the Home Depot Center were a bunch beach babies and surfers … well … duh.
They try to push the line that BO’s association with Bill Ayers is nothing because it’s not like he’s going to be mixing up explosives in the basement of the White House. What a stupid defense and attempted diversion. Anyone who thinks that exonerates Obama for the close association with just one of many friends who openly HATE and have unapologetically sought to destroy the country BO wants to lead is ignorant and soft-headed beyond belief. Duh.
Oh, there are so many more, but I’m tired of typing.
It’s a constant source of amusement that there are so many who know so little while being absolutely certain they’re smarter than everyone else.

Nice pictures, much better quality than mine.
I was at the rally, too, and photoblogged the rally plus my encounter with protesters here: http://everyopinion.blogspot.com.

My wife and I went to the rally yesterday.
Our local paper the Daily Breeze noted that the tennis stadium was a 15000 seat stadium. It was not only full but over flowing. I have video of the event. Plus the whole floor of the tennis court was filled with about 1000 more folks not to mention the folks next door at the scoccer stadium.
I’ll try to post my video to youtube today.

The one thing that amazes me is that as a white man, I have many black and Mulsim freinds and they are for McCain/Palin.
They just don’t trust Obama.
Thank you to John McCain for your service and thank you to Sarah Palin’s sons service.

I have never been more proud to be an American. I know that McCain and Palin have our Country’s best interests at heart, not their own. Expose Obama for what he really is!
Go McCain/Palin ‘08!!

GO GIRL GO!!!
I, too, was at the rally in Carson! Definitely a smart decision on my part! Really, you had to be there to believe it! The enthusiam for seeing and hearing Sarah Palin was indescribable! The American pride demonstrated was unbelievable! The stadium was overflowing with people! This woman is astonishing! She was, in a sense,
“dropped from Heaven” for a country in need of a “real” person to represent our country and a critcal time! (Particularly, bc of the man on the “other” ticket running for President of the United States!) We have in Sarah, a woman of moral character, a woman of unshakable, tested, faith, a woman of intreity, a woman with “brains,” a woman who can relate to the “average Joe” in America, a woman who is dead serious about bringing real change to Washington!!! We need her desperately in Washington, folks!!! Best thing that has happen to the Republican Party in a long, long, long time! Thank God for Sarah Palin!!!

Palin is truly a breath of freshness, Sarah is an Iron Lady and as normal as we are. I talked with my brother about Sarah, I assumed he was going to vote Obama from what I have seen of him over 40 years of Chicano-Indian oraganization, as we are Comanche organizers and facilitators. I was stunned and very pleased to see my older brother’s entusiasm for Palin, it was unbelievable how he beamed when talking about Palin’s inate ability. WE both agreed that Palin is one us and connects with the American People substantively. We love Sarah’s wholesomeness and her open honesty. Sarah Palin’s chirpyness and happiness is reflected in her family’s happy buoyancy. It is wonderful to see a politician who is comfortable with the way she is … this is extremely important to us, namely that Sarah is a problem solver without any bitterness or class envy. We appreciate the linkage Sarah has through marriage to the Eskimo Peoples of Alaska, as we are proud of being Comanches and proudly served in the American Army. We appreciate that Governor Palin understands and supports the military, and we know that, as Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin is familiar with the logistics required to support an Army on the Front Line of American Destiny. Go Sarah, WE are behind you!

I live in a multi cultural neighborhood in San Diego and I haven’t seen one Obama sign and only saw one McCain/Palin sign on my street. I wish they would come to San Diego, the Carson Rally looked like so much fun. Thanks for posting the pics. We need to win Cali for sure. Aloha!!

Let us not think Sarah Palin is not experienced and knowledgeable just because she is not a lawyer and does not talk like one. We have enough lawyers running this country. We need straight, honest and sincere officials to really represent us for a change. This is want McCain and Palin will do for us. We are quick in praising our soldiers that fight for our freedom but we are blind to see that we have a real hero that wants to lead us all. I am sure a lot of democrats are just rooting for BO for the sake of the party and not for the sake of the country. May God enlighten these people.

Sara Palin and the McCain GOP machine are trying to attack the character and judgment of Barak Obama. In speeches given by Palin in Colorado and California Palin seeks to tie Bill Ayers to the Obama campaign. Mr. Ayers was a member of the Weather Underground Organization as well as Students for a Democratic Society (SDS). Mr. Ayers was never convicted of any crime. The argument has been did he carry out or assist in acts of disobedience or terrorism during the Vietnam era. He may have, but the case was dismissed because of misconduct by the FBI. Fast forward forty years. Mr. Ayers and his wife also a member of WUO are now well known and respected members of the academia and law-abiding citizens. The McCain claim is that Obama has had contacts with Mr. Ayers. Oops, I forgot for a moment that this is the United States of America with a Constitution and Bill of Rights. Citizens of our great nation sometimes perform illegal acts. They are innocent until proven guilty; and if found guilty, once they pay their debt to society (jail, fine or both) they may resume there life, hopefully without prejudice or intolerance. As a nation we must be tolerant and not assign guilt by association. Sarah Palin said during the Vice-Presidential debate she is a tolerant person. Tolerance is one of the principles in a Jeffersonian Democracy. Her recent speeches leave me confused. If guilt by association leads to intolerant attacks on character or judgment, then we must consider John McCain’s relationship with Charles H Keating Jr. (Google the Keating Five) In 1993 Keating was convicted by a federal jury of 73 counts of wire and bankruptcy fraud in the collapse of American Continental and Lincoln Savings. Keating a financial terrorist was sentenced to twelve years in part for bilking scores of seniors out of their life savings. In addition, Palin’s close association to Senator Ted Stevens. Senator Stevens praised Palin and endorsed her for Governor of Alaska. Senator Stevens, if you have not been keeping up to date, is on trial for corruption. Senator Stevens did not report personal gifts according to a Federal Grand Jury. Sarah Palin is hangin’ ‘round someone who violated the public’s trust. The question is can we TRUST McCain/Palin on character and judgment.

Carson California would be an area for Sara Palin
to go and tear down the house that the liberals
built. Well she did and America is up and run-
ing. She needs to be on Wall Street monday to open up the new united we stand by a Republican
who wants everyone to make good. Not by a stan-

You believe Ayers and his wife are “respected members of the academia” but I believe they are part of the radical left-wing horde which has taken over academia. Their fellow travelers at Duke University tried (and almost succeeded) in convicting three innocent young men for a rape that never happened. In one of the most egregious examples of political correctness gone wild, we saw exactly what these academics (with help from the media) were willing to do to further their ideology. Truth did not matter, justice did not mattter, people did not matter, nothing mattered but their radical ideas. Ayers is one of them. The only question is whether Obama is too. I’m not willing to take that chance.

It’s official- the tie between Obama and this disastrous financial crisis we are experiencing. ACORN,which was completely responsible for pressuring Fannie Mae to “give” NINJA loans to the poor struggling “DON’T FEEL LIKE WORKING” class, was supported and engineered by none other than our reigning Socialist and dictator-hopeful, BO. He was with them every step of the way, as well as Franklin, his top man, who cleaned up millions of OUR dollars - both of them. Is it any wonder these criminals will stop at nothing to get their hands on the check book that is funded by tax payer dollars and suck it dry too!

Isn’t funny, that Obama claims not to be Muslim, but his father and step-fathere were. Isn’t it funny that Obama claims not to have any contact with Faharhakan or Ayers, but live in the same neiborhood and with in a 1/2 mile from each other. Isn’t it funny that you can’t find anything that Obama has done in College nor can you find his birth certificate. Isn’t it funny that Obama has been related to a long list of radical groops including Acorn and radical group in Chicago. Everyone put’s down McCain, why?because he fights with both parties to fix this country, or they put down Palin Why? because she more of a woman than most of the woman out there?
What has Obama done? Has he ever went fishing, fired a gun, “no” but he can fire his mouth a great deal about President George Bush. We know what President Bush has done, we do not need to hear it everytime Obama gets up to a telepromter. Let’s hear what he is going to do, he won’t do anything, he’ll be te second worst President we have had since Jimmy Carter. If you don’t like living in this country get the hell out, move to Russia and see how many times you can bad mouth that Government, you are to shitless because in Russia, you’d be put in prison.
This is my country, this is the UNITED STATES, love it or get the hell out.

Now that McCain is practically out of money (2nd time, BTW, and this guy is supposed to be able to handle the economy?) the best the campaign can hope for is free media coverage by the only one on the ticket anyone is paying attention to– Sarah Palin.
And the only thing she can say that will get coverage is lies. So she does.
Expect more of the same.

Jack Bender,
Mr Ayers has said he did not do enough bombings he is not sorry for his crimes nor his wifes and Ayers children are in their twenty and thirtys Didnt Obama say his children went to the same school thats why they were friendly,Huh? Obama kicked his campaign off in Ayers’s living room that is only a few doors down from his. This is no smear campaign this is the truth aka Jack Bender you just dont want the truth to come out about BHO that might hurt your chance to Socailize even more of OUR AMERICA. You came to the wrong room I am glad Sarah has taken the Gloves off The so called press is not doing their job to inform Americans So we Americans must inform ourselves Get off the internet get a job then you might be able to understand what we are all about. Until then keep sipping your koolaid .

As I see it, it doesn’t make a whole a lot of since to a whole lot of people, to want what 90% of the American people want.. Yes you read this right. I am tired of reading or hearing the mumble jumble that comes out of that mouth of OB. I am just as confused by what he tries to say as I am of what he does say. When it comes to Sarah she tells it like it is, there is no confusion at all. Like she said during the VP debate, he may not like my answers to the questions. She gets the job done. What has OB done?, I mean really what has he done? Nothing but put more money in his pocket at the expence of the American people.
In my books he is another Hilter, younger but a Hilter just the same. God help the USA..We need McCain/Palin in the white house.. If OB gets in we will all be in the POOR HOUSE..

She went after Barack Obama for his comments about U.S. troops air raiding villages in Afghanistan. When a protester tried to interrupt, Palin pointed in the protester’s direction and praised the troops for fighting to protect the right ‘that person was exercising.’” […]

fedupwithBO,
Great try to impersonate a dumb right-winger. Your misspelling and attempts to imitate bad grammar don’t fit into any red-neck, immigrant or trailer-park slang from any part of the country. Just write what you want to say straight (in other words, show your true colors), don’t try to impersonate an un-educated conservative, because first, not many of them exist, and second, none have ever talked nor written like that. I suspect your “Relion” and your “Guns” are quite different than those with which you supposed you could defame and discredit backers of McCain and Palin.
