Democrat Congressional Leadership: Don’t Blame Us, We Don’t Know What to Do

Yesterday we had Nancy Pelosi saying the Democrats in Congress who have had oversight responsibilities over the banking industry for the past two years don’t deserve any blame for what’s happening. Today we get Harry Reid telling American not to expect Congress to take action because they don’t have a clue what to do. It’s too bad the Democrats didn’t admit that five years ago when the Bush Administration proposed stronger regulatory oversight over Fannie and Freddie, or 3 years ago when John McCain tried to pass regulatory reform.

Meanwhile, we have Barack Obama reminiscing about old news and taking credit for something he didn’t even do. No real surprise there. Embellishing his accomplishments seems to be Obama’s favorite pastime.

I heard this somewhere recently and it deserves repeating: Enough! Let’s remind the Democrats that with power comes responsibility. It’s time for a change of leadership in Congress.
