Just Words – Obama on the Financial Markets

Senator Barack Obama tried to get some political mileage out of the chaos in the financial markets today by blaming it all on Bush (and by extension McCain). Megan McArdle and Flip take him to task for offering nothing but empty words and cheap shots without the faintest hint of a solution.

Hindsight is supposed to be 20/20 and Obama still doesn’t appear to see what went wrong.

Or perhaps he just doesn’t want to be honest about it. After all, part of the problem was the government’s efforts to boost minority home ownership. The other hard truth… Democrats have controlled Congress for the past two years and had the oversight responsibilities. Perhaps, they were too busy getting sweetheart deals and causing bank runs to do their jobs.
