The Obama Way

A little history lesson to keep in mind for when Obama and the Democrats start levying charges about voter disenfranchisement.  The money quote: “The rules are there for a reason.”  Let’s see if the Dems are still singing that tune come November.

There’s also a recurring theme at work here. Alice Palmer had taken Barack Obama under her wing only to be stabbed in the back.  Last December The Atlantic ran an article entitled, “Teacher and Apprentice” in which it told the story of how a newly-elected Senator Obama sought out Senator Clinton for advice:

A few weeks after he was elected to the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama told his staff he wanted to meet with Hillary Clinton. In her years as a senator, Clinton had deftly navigated many of the challenges that now confronted Obama. She had come to the Senate as a national figure whose celebrity eclipsed (and therefore imperiled) her status as a freshman senator. She had a broad but shallow base of support among the voters she represented. And she, like Obama, held national political ambitions that depended heavily on how well she performed in the Senate.

On February 1, 2005, the two talked for an hour in Clinton’s cheerful, canary-yellow Senate office.

Clinton proceeded to give Obama her recipe for success in the U.S. Senate.  We’ve seen how well that worked out for her.  For all of Obama’s rhetoric about a new kind of politics, the guy has some pretty sharp elbows.

  1. […] If you’re peddling the same socialist policies of the New Deal, where can you find voters yearning for a return to the 1930’s?  According to the Dems, you look in the cemetery.  Democrats have been caught registering dead people to vote in Louisiana (surprise, surprise).  Spolitics.com noted during the primaries how important the deceased vote is to Democrats and it appears it will be an integral part of their 2008 campaign strategy.  Of course, dead people are not allowed to vote, but we’re sure that will not stop the Dems from crying “voter disenfranchisement.”  Come November, we’ll see if the Obama campaign will reiterate their fondness for the rules, or if the Senator will “clarify” his position on voter fraud. 2. […] One likely explanation that wouldn’t require anyone to be a liar or insane is that Obama has a staffer who has access to certain email accounts and answers emails for him.  Johansson could have written to a campaign email address or his senate email account and the staffer responded on Obama’s behalf.  But if that were the case, Obama would have known about the practice which would mean that rather than explain the situation and reveal the charade, he let Scarlett look the fool and end up as roadkill on Obama Way.  […]
