The Judgment to Lead Where?

Barack Obama has been trying to make the case that his judgment to lead is better than John McCain’s.  In support of that argument, the Senator points to a speech he gave in 2002 opposing the Iraq war.  At the time, Obama was not yet in the Senate and not privy to the same intelligence reports given to other members of Congress, so his position was based in relative ignorance.  When he was a member of the U.S. Senate and had access to the same information as Senator McCain, he opposed the surge strategy in Iraq.  His judgment on that issue was wrong on every major point.  McCain’s was right.

Evidently, giving Senator Obama all the facts impairs his judgment.  No wonder he doesn’t want to go to Iraq to assess the situation.  If Obama is more right when he doesn’t have the relevant information than he is when does, is that judgment we can really trust?

Hat Tip: Hot Air.
