“View” Should Change Its Name to “Spew”

I don’t watch this show and after watching about 30 seconds of a clip over at Hot Air I’m reminded why. Watch the clip first to follow what I’m saying here. First, someone should remind Rosie that Congress repeals laws not the President. Second, does she really believe the Patriot Act is the biggest threat to democracy in our nation’s history? (By the way, Rosie, we’ve been around for longer than 200 years — stop livin’ in the 70’s). Really? A law that can be repealed by Congress is a bigger threat than the Civil War, WWII, Fascism, Communism and (gasp) Global Warming? And the best Hasselbeck can do is say she wants the government to listen to her phone conversations if it’ll protect her. Sweetheart, they’re not listening to your phone conversations unless you have ties to terrorists. That’s kind of a big point to miss when discussing how the law is a threat to our freedom. But rather than say anything poignant the whole thing devolves into an argument about ageism. That’s when I tuned out. The only thing scarier than the fact that these dullards are on TV is the idea that people out there are actually watching.
