Dixie Chicks – Dumber Than We Thought

Okay, this has been all over the place (Malkin, Hot Air, expose the left), so I’ll only point out what I feel others missed.

First off, it’s hilarious that they compared themselves to communists during the red scare, or what they called “the McCarthy days.” (My guess is that, like most liberal entertainers they are confusing McCarthy with HUAC. See Ann Coulter’s “Treason” for more info.)

Second, Maines seems unable to grasp the fact that her fans despised her because she took a cheap shot. It’s not like she criticized Bush in Texas. She was the one pandering to a foreign audience. Now she accuses other country music stars for pandering to their own country? And, given that we had recently gone to war, she interprets their pro-American stance as anti-Dixie-Chick. Talk about self-centered! What’s more, she appears incapable of comprehending the concept that they might actually love their country.

Which leads to point two. If you “like where you live and like your life” you may want to show appreciation for the country and system of government that makes it possible. That’s what the rest of us call “patriotism” and it’s what protects our country and form of government.

(PR tip to Dixie Chicks: you’re talented musicians, but nowhere near as intelligent as you think you are. Stop talking politics or at least learn of which you speak.)

  1. It’s hard to believe but the Dixie Chicks sang the national anthem correctly at a football game about 22 months ago. They said “banner” instead of “baa-an-ner”, as in “ban-ner yet wave”. Some of the few Americans who actually know how to sing it. That does not mean that I like them. Watch the World Series. Major League Baseball makes no effort to find someone who knows the Star Spangled Banner. Some Americans!!

  2. FU!!! BUSH DESERVES TO BE TREATED LIKE THIS NOT THE DIXIE CHICKS!!! JUST BECAUSE THERE ANTI-AMERICAN DOESN’T MAKE THEM STUPID. I’M ANTI-AMERICAN. ARE YOU GOING TO CALL STUPID NOW? AND WHO CARES IF THEY SING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM RIGHT OR WRONG. IF YOU DON’T LIKE THEM SO MUCH THEN JUST DON’T PAY ATTENION TO THEM. YOU KNOW THERE ARE PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD WHO HAPPEN TO STILL LIKE THEM. THEY ALSO GOT NEW FANS TOO. THEY ARE ACTUALLY SMART PEOPLE IF YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN TO THIER SONGS OR LOOK UP THEIR LYRICS. THEY ARE ALSO VERY BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND IF YOU TOOK THE TIME TO NOTICE MANY PEOPLE ACTUALLY THINK SO. PLUS THEY AREN’T AS BAD AS BUSH, THEY DIDN’T START A WAR NOW DID THEY? THEY ARE ACTUALLY TRYING TO SAVE THE WORLD AND KEEP THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE ON IT ALIVE. NOT SELFISHLY SENDING PEOPLE TO WAR AND NOT CARING IF THEY DIE OR NOT. SO YEAH JUST SO YOU KNOW YOU BETTER THINK BEFORE YOU TALK OR TYPE ANYTHING ON THE COMPUTER. I AM ASHAMED OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU, AND I HOPE YOU DON’T COME FORM CALIFORNIA!!! BECAUSE THEN I WOULD REALLY BE EMBRASSED OF YOU!!!!

  3. YOUR VERY STUPID. JUST BECAUSE YOU THINK THAT THEY ARE STUPID DOESN’T MEAN THAT THEY ARE. THEY ACTUALLY DO KNOW ABOUT POLITICS, BECAUSE IF THEY DIDN’T THEN THEY PROBABALY WOULDN’T TALK ABOUT THEM.DUH. HOW DO YOU EXPECT A COUNTRY TRIO WITH THE PEOPLE OF ABOUT 32-37 YEARS OLD TO NOT KNOW ABOUT POLITICS WHEN A 12 YEAR KNOWS ABOUT POLITICS? SO YEAH YOU BETTER THINK!!!
